H4614 was passed by the SC House, and went through a second reading in the SC Senate today. If it goes for a third reading the the Senate tomorrow, it can go back to the House for consideration of that version. If the House agrees with the Senate, it will become law. Shared custody may have a chance in SC!

Jeremy Walters says today that Leventis has removed his name from the legislation as “desiring to be present” when the child custody bill, H4614 comes up for a vote [effectively killing the bill] but Malloy has been added.

Jeremy wants me to urge you all to contact your SC Senator ASAP to vote YEA on the shared custody bill, H 4614 as a vote is imminent! Jeremy has really been working hard this week contacting the senators. Please help him get this fair and groundbreaking legislation passed. Come on out next Tuesday to meet Jeremy, and see why a legislator in Columbia recently called him a “pit-bull” and the best man for the job.

Last week the SC Supreme Court ruled that Republican Raye Felder’s name will be removed from the ballot for SC House 26 because she couldn’t get her statement of economic interest form filed in time to comply with the law. As a newcomer, Walters still did, and is currently the only candidate on the ballot, however Felder may still be listed without party affiliation if she gets enough signatures. There’s currently also a Federal lawsuit pending to overturn the decision as it affects many candidates statewide.
Though the status quo does not appreciate a citizen activist who has already been pushing for fair laws, it’s YOU the voter who matters. Please stake a stand and send Jeremy to the state house by writing a letter to the editor, donating, placing campaign signs, endorsing him, and signing up to canvass. It’ll only take a moment of your time, and have a lasting effect toward making history in South Carolina and beyond!

Jeremy is the “go-getter” we need to represent us. You can see evidence of this by browsing through the news links about his efforts for equal custody in SC.
We sincerely appreciate any and all support you can give.
