Jeremy Walters for SC House 26 got 5,239 or 46.77% of the vote. What county has ever had a Libertarian earn 46.77%??? We made history. This is where the action was at! Thanks to all who volunteered!
To the voters of District 26: This is Jeremy Walters and if you are reading this you are the revolution! On Nov. 6, 2012 you’ll have to make a decision but before you make that decision perhaps you should know the history of the House District 26 seat. Due to population growth, Fort Mill, SC is now called District 26. This is an open seat. Originally I was going to run as a Republican. However, the York County GOP sought me out and asked me to come to a meeting. I went into a room of eight people and the Chairman told me that there was no way I was ever going to beat Raye Felder and I should save my $300 filing fee and just go home. As time has past, I’ve learned other candidates wanted to run for the House seat and they were told the same thing…to take a walk! I know all this because I’ve experienced it first hand and the way I see it is that you, the voters of District 26, were meant to have no choice in the election of 2012. There was only going to be one candidate on the ballot and that was Raye Felder. The Democrats in this area didn’t run a candidate because of the stronghold of the York Co. GOP. Raye Felder was meant to walk into this seat unopposed and not one of you was ever going to question it. As for myself, being a man that doesn’t take no for an answer, I filed to run for the House District 26 seat as a Libertarian. Then the funniest thing happened…Raye Felder, the York Co.’s GOP champion candidate, got removed from the ballot because she and the York Co. GOP leaders failed to file paperwork correctly. If you notice, my opponent’s website and mailers say Fort Mill now has a choice, insinuating Felder’s hard work to get back on the ballot as a petition candidate is saving you from being stuck with the Libertarian Jeremy Walters. The truth of the matter is that you, the voters of District 26, according to previous plans of the York Co. GOP, were not going to have a choice at all. You would have never known the difference. With my previous experience at the State House, I have learned how SC politics really works. The GOP will try to intimidate whoever gets in their way. They need to remember that every once in a while they will push around the wrong man. I think it’s really sad that they were going to get away with it and you were never even going to know. Raye Felder was going to walk into that seat below the radar. Voters…you should check on how much money Felder and the Republican machine have spent trying to make sure that I do not win. I believe the reason why the York Co. GOP chose Felder to be the only candidate for District 26 is because she will be their puppet and she will do as she is told by the machine. She will by no means represent you but the very beast that pulls her strings. I just wanted you to know the truth of how corrupt the York Co. GOP is and although it may seem that you have no control over the situation you actually do. On November 6, 2012, do not elect another puppet that is controlled by the machine! Perhaps you should elect a liberty-minded candidate such as myself that will represent YOU, THE VOTER, and not the corrupt York Co. GOP. ELECT JEREMY C. WALTERS -SC HOUSE DISTRICT 26. We don’t need another puppet at the State House!
Jeremy will be giving out candy from 5-7pm at The Cutting Room downtown Fort Mill at the intersection of Main and Tom Hall. Come on out!
Watch today’s Nations Ford High/Fort Mill Times Virtual Debate…what the politicians don’t tell you is that if we end the income tax, we’ll merely be at roughly 2010 budget levels. There is plenty of pork to go around! SC keeps gouging its taxpayers in so many ways, including giving handouts to billionaires in this bad economy. If you want more of the same, look elsewhere! If you want change, Vote Libertarian, Vote for experienced citizen lobbyist Jeremy Walters!
